UIMSAites Emerge UI’ SRC 12th Assembly Deputy Speaker and Chief Whip

Ojo Felicia Oluwatimilehin, a fourth-year medical student, and Oluwagbemisola Olubanjo, a second-year medical student, emerged as the Deputy Speaker, and Chief Whip, respectively, of the 12th Assembly of the University of Ibadan Students’ Representative Council, at the first sitting of the Assembly held yesterday, 8th March, 2025. 

Hon. Ojo, representing Alexander Brown Hall, and Hon. Olubanjo, representing Queen Idia Hall, join Hon. Adedeji Praise (Lord Tedder Hall) elected as Clerk, and Rt. Hon. Shoge Quadri Olaoluwa (Great Independence Hall) who was elected as Speaker. 

Hon. Felicia previously served as the Chief Whip in the 11th Assembly. 

Speaking with the Press on her victory, she said, “Inaugural sitting is one every Honourable looks forward to due to the election of Principal officers of the Council. The just-concluded election was not only a process of deciding leaders but a contest of ideas, vision and commitment to service and I commend every candidate both elected and otherwise”. 

She added, “The elections are over and it’s time to move forward. My aim remains ensuring that the Students’ Representative Council is a space for meaningful dialogue and legislation and I am committed to working tirelessly in the service of our great University. I extend my appreciation to everyone who participated in the election and to the entire populace of the University of Ibadan”.
