Mafa, Kola Daisi Foundation Hold Free Medical Screening

On Wednesday, the 20th of June, 2024, Medical Aid for Africa (Mafa) in partnership with the Kola Daisi Foundation and Access to Basic Medical Care Foundation organised a Free Medical Screening for Hypertension and Diabetes at the Aleshinloye Market, Ibadan.

The outreach, which held as part of Mafa’s “Know Your Numbers Hypertension and Diabetes Awareness Campaign”, featured blood pressure checks, blood sugar and BMI checks, and distribution of free medication. It was organised with support from UIMSA, with several members of the association serving as volunteers.

Speaking with the Press, Dr Isa Folajomi, a representative of the Kola Daisi Foundation, said, “The outreach was aimed at providing as much relief as we can. This is Mafa’s first outreach in Africa and we’re just their liaisons. We’ve been planning since March and I’m happy we succeeded“. She added, “It’s going to be a continuous thing (the outreaches)”.
