Sigma Sports Festival: Match Day 4 Roundup (Female Category).

On Sunday, the 29th of September, 2025, day 4 of the female category of the Sigma Sports Festival played out.

The first match of the day involved Midway Storm FC going up against Spark Kickers FC. For Midway Storm FC, it was a chance to mount pressure on SFA Femini to snatch the second spot from them. For Spark Kickers FC, it was a chance to show their sponsors that they at least competed, even if the metric is scoring one goal in the competition. The first half produced just one goal, scored by Gerald of Midway Storm FC, to give her side hope of moving on to the next round. The second half was a drab affair, and the scoreline remained the same. Gerald’s only goal was enough for Midway Storm FC to walk away with three crucial points.

Phoenix FC vs. SFA Femini was the next game to be played. Midway Storm FC’s win in the previous game meant they were now level on points with SFA Femini, and a loss in this game may have dire consequences on their chances of qualifying for the next round. Phoenix FC showed they were not going to be walked over when Kemi’s well-placed shot nestled comfortably at the back of the net, giving her side the lead just about 15 minutes into the first half. SFA Femini had no reply for the remaining half. The second half showed more intensity from both sides, and finally, Favour got the equalizer for SFA Femini at the death, with mere minutes to go. At exactly 4:42 PM, the referee signalled the end of the match, and both teams had to make do with sharing the spoils.

At the end of matchday 4, Joga Bonito leads the second-placed SFA Femini with four points, while Midway Storm FC is now closer than ever, with just one point separating them from second position. Although now on 2 points, Phoenix FC maintains fourth position on the log, and Spark Kickers remain at the bottom.
