Police Vans Observed at ABH Again Despite Protest Suspension

As early as 7 AM this morning, four police vans are reported to have been stationed opposite the Alexander Brown Hall Gate, more than 24 Hours after yesterday’s demonstrations began, and despite the announcement of suspension of demonstrations.

Three of the vans, each filled with policemen, are identified to be from the State Police Headquarters, Yemetu, with a fourth, from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit. The fourth drove off sometime around 7:14 AM as captured by a UIMSA Press correspondent. They did so alongside a car filled with Mobile Police officers.

Brownites who spoke with the Press reported feeling anxious and worried about the continued Police presence at the gate. This is especially as the demonstrations have been suspended.

As of Press time, the three vans remain in place, and there is still no clear indication of their motive for being present. It remains to be seen when this occupation will cease.
